Transparency warning
JPEG has no transparency channel. If your PNG has a transparent or partially transparent background, this converter fills those areas with white before saving as JPG — it can't preserve transparency, and there's no way to keep it in a JPEG file. If transparency matters, keep the PNG (or convert to WebP instead, which does support it).

What happens to transparent areas of my PNG?
JPEG doesn't support transparency, so any transparent or semi-transparent pixels are filled with white before the image is saved as JPG. If you need to keep transparency, keep the file as PNG or WebP instead.
Will the JPG be smaller than my PNG?
Usually, yes — that's the main reason people convert PNG photos to JPG. JPEG's lossy compression typically produces a smaller file for photographic images, though the result depends on the image content and isn't guaranteed.
Is this a lossy conversion?
Yes. JPEG encoding is lossy by nature, so the output won't be pixel-identical to the PNG source, even at high quality.
